Working in the Spar Shop The Spar Shop is a unit of Grays Harbor Historical Seaport Authority , a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) public development authority based in Aberdeen, Wash. that owns and operates the tall ships Hawaiian Chieftain and Lady Washington , the Official Ship of the State of Washington. GHHSAs mission is to provide educational, vocational, recreational and ambassadorial activities and experiences that promote and preserve the maritime history of Grays Harbor, the Pacific Northwest, and our nation while serving the needs of the community.

As part of the Historical Seaport , the Spar Shop provides at-risk youth with job shadowing and vocational training opportunities. Income from the Spar Shop supports living history programs with a two-decade record of changing people's lives. Your business helps us maintain our tall ships, the Lady Washington and Hawaiian Chieftain , as they travel to more than 40 ports a year in Washington, Oregon, California, and British Columbia educating young people and the public about our nation's rich maritime heritage.
